Getting outdoors

Try exploring somewhere new to help you switch off and take a bit of a break.

Technology is important to help us stay connected with our friends and family, but it can get exhausting. It’s good to just take some time to step away from the screen and look around!

Click here to look at the Trans Pennine Trail which runs through Barnsley. Make sure you let someone know where you are going, and what time to expect you back.

Have you heard of Barnsley’s Early Intervention Team?

They have Facebook Page where you can find information about their weekly walking group, which meets at Barnsley Interchange on Mondays @ 12pm

Things to do indoors

Not everyone likes getting out and about, or you aren’t ready to leave the house just yet, try some simple relaxation activities

Step away from the screen and try something else:

It could be anything that helps you keep calm and relaxed.

  • Drawing or colouring
  • Crafts such as sewing, using play clay or playdough to make things
  • Cooking
  • Listening to music or making your own music
  • Writing a letter or a journal
  • Singing along to the radio, or YouTube
  • Meditating
  • Making up a dance

These are just a few suggestions, do what makes you happy and allows you to feel relaxed and in control of your feelings.
