Refuge: National Domestic Abuse Helpline

The 24 hour National Domestic Abuse Helpline, run by Refuge is for women experiencing domestic abuse, their family, friends and others calling on their behalf.

Resolute - Women's Support group
Resolute is a Barnsley group created to provide a network of support for women who are affected by domestic violence past or present. We are here to help and support in a confidential safe place, you are not alone.

We have a closed Facebook Group if you would like to join and we also have groups in your local community.

IDAS : Independent Domestic Abuse Service

In Barnsley IDAS provides support such as refuge accommodation, community based support, peer mentoring, group work and access to a free, confidential out of hours’ helpline.

National Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Trans Domestic Violence helpline run by Galop, provides support to LGBT people suffering domestic abuse.

IDAS : Independent Domestic Abuse Service for Young People

Young people can also be the victims of domestic abuse in their own relationships. We have supported people as young as 14 who are being hit and abused by their boyfriends.

IDAS are able to offer one to one support and some groups for children and young people. We also provide support for young people who are starting to be abusive.
