The Disabled Children's Register (DCR)

Every local authority has a statutory duty to maintain a register of disabled children within their area. The Disabled Children's Register,(DCR) is a database of SEND children and young people aged 0-25 living in Barnsley.

The register helps the Local Authority see the different SEND needs across the borough.

Signing up also means that the Families Information Service can keep you up to date on:

• new groups;
  
• local services;
  
• SEND events;
  
• public consultations.
  

They can send you information targeted to your child’s needs or condition, at key times in your child’s life such as transitions and preparing for adulthood.

 Joining  the DCR is easy. Give us a ring at the Families Information Service on 0800 0345 340   We will just need your contact details and a bit of information on your child's needs.

or  email infofis@barnsley.gov.uk with the subject DCR and we will get back to you for the information.

Joining the DCR is voluntary. If you change your mind, your details can be removed. Ring Families Information Service on 0800 0345 340 and we will delete your record.

The information is held securely in the Synergy database. The information you provide will only be seen by a small number of staff within the Families Information Service who maintain the datastore.
